Peel and Stick Installation Instructions
How to Install your Scapepaper Wall Mural
We recommend that two people hang the mural together to get the best results. Do not book a professional installer until after you've received your mural and have checked it first. It's important to prepare the wall correctly before installation in order to ensure a long-lasting wallpaper.
You must follow the full installation guide that will be supplied with your wall mural or else we cannot guarantee the product.
Wallpapered Walls
Remove any old wallpaper prior to installation. Seal/prime before installation.
Painted walls
We recommend that the mural be installed on a matte paint finish only. Flaking paint will need to be scraped and sanded. Finish with a quality wall sealer/primer. Allow 2 to 3 weeks drying time for freshly painted walls before installing the mural.
Self-Adhesive Murals
Wall surface MUST be smooth and free of any contaminants. Final finish must be a primer/sealer
Plaster
Check that the plastered wall is clean and dry with no loose plaster or other contaminants. Coat with a quality seal/primer.
Peel and Stick Mural Install
What you need to hang your peel and stick wallpaper.
1. Lay out your peel and stick wall mural
Your mural will be supplied on a roll and divided into panels. Cut along the dotted cut marks for each panel and lay them out flat for at least a couple of hours. The panels will be numbered in the order they are to be hung from left to right. Clean the wall with a semi-damp sponge and then wait for the wall to completely dry in order to ensure that the wall is clean and ready for your mural.
2. Draw a straight vertical guideline
Draw a vertical guideline using a spirit level and a tape measure; starting from the edge of the wall and placing the vertical line at the panel's width. Remember to deduct the measurement of the bleed/extra bit of paper.
3. Peel off the backing
Take your first panel and peel a small amount of the top of the mural from the backing paper. Place the top of the panel to the wall and make sure that the right hand edge aligns with your drawn vertical line.
4. Continue applying the panels
Repeat the process with the remaining panels making sure the image or pattern lines up as you apply. Without overlapping and without leaving gaps.
